Club statement regarding club reopening

We hope that all of our friends, supporters, players, volunteers and sponsors are coping with the challenging times we are currently facing. In the future we will look back on this period in our lives with rueful reflection, as we enjoy being at the club again.

Our activities are currently guided by government regulation and guidelines and we also have to adhere to the advice provided to us by our constituent body, Warwickshire RFU, and by our governing body, the RFU.

Recent information excluded all opening of clubs, sports club and social clubs. That information was contradicted within two days but it has not changed our viewpoint.

Keresley RFC will NOT be opening for any social users on Saturday 4th July.

Currently, there is some extensive redevelopment work being undertaken inside the clubhouse, which renders the access to both bars and the toilets as problematical. Work is continuing by our fantastic volunteers but the club is not yet ready to use. When we are happy that the indoor works are completed to enough of a standard to adhere to safety requirements, and when guidelines allow us to do so, safely, and in compliance with current expectations. A date for our reopening has not yet been set, nor will it until we are happy we can provide a safe environment for social users.

Thank you for your understanding of the situation. Your club will be back, and we will look forward to seeing you back at your club.

Paul Harrison
Chairman, Keresley RFC
